The head spa is a Japanese-inspired scalp treatment that promotes circulation, detoxification, and deep relaxation while improving the health of your scalp and hair. It combines aromatherapy, scalp massage, light therapy, steam, and specialized scalp tools.
The Surface Awaken Scalp Facial layers on a holistic, plant-based approach, using botanicals like capsicum, peppermint, and saw palmetto to stimulate, exfoliate, and detoxify. Combined, the Awaken ingredients reach deep into the follicle where they matter most, for a luxurious treatment tailored to you. Other studios offer the head spa. None of them use Awaken.
Ideal if you experience stress and tension, a dry, oily, or flaky scalp, product buildup, hair thinning, hair loss from medications, or headaches and mental fatigue.
This treatment is not recommended if you have extensions. The massage and brushing can tangle them, and the scalp cannot be fully stimulated.

Park near the white fence around the daycare play area, on the side facing Gateway Mall. Walk up the pathway between the building and the fence and enter through Door C at the end of the walkway. Once inside Door C, go through the unmarked door immediately on your left, in front of the stairs. The suite is on your right.

You will be reclined face up for the whole session, covered by a heated blanket with your legs supported on a bolster.
For comfort and to protect your clothing, guests are asked to remove all clothing and jewelry above the waist. Robes and wrap-around towels are provided.
Wear comfortable pants, and if your feet tend to get cold, bring cozy socks. You will leave with towel-dried, wet hair, so bring a clip, hat, or beanie if the weather calls for it.
Note: this service is not recommended for guests with hair extensions.
Arrive a few minutes early and settle in. We will talk briefly about your scalp and what you are hoping for, then you will lie back and let the treatment take over.
You will leave with a clean scalp, a clear head, and hair that feels its best. Plan to move a little slower on your way out.
To get the full benefit of the scalp treatment, avoid blow drying or using styling products for 24 to 48 hours afterward.
